I've been arguing about sport since I was old enough to have a bad opinion about it. Growing up in Newcastle will do that to you. I started Match Player Stats in May 2026 because I was tired of reading match coverage that confused volume with depth. Good-looking articles that told you nothing you couldn't have worked out from the scoreline. I cover the NFL, NBA, MLB, cricket, and football on this site, and the only rule I've ever held to is a straightforward one: if the stats don't support what you're writing, you're writing the wrong thing. That's the whole editorial policy, really.
